Abstract: After explaining what are Ulrich bundles and why they are interesting, I'll focus on the major problem in the subject: the existence of a Ulrich bundle on any projective variety. I'll explain how the Serre construction of rank 2 bundles gives a positive answer for some surfaces and threefolds.
